InConstruct Tools for AutoCAD

The everyday CAD jobs of a site engineer, done in a few clicks

I'm a site engineer. I've spent years setting out on sites from Luton Airport to the Olympic Stadium, and like most of us I've lost hours in AutoCAD doing the same jobs by hand: pulling in survey points, checking as-builts, working out concrete, labelling coordinates one by one. So I built the tools I wanted, and IC Tools is the result.

It adds an InConstruct Tools tab to your AutoCAD ribbon. Every tool opens in a clear window that shows you what it does, and a step-by-step guide walks you through it the first time.

Vector Deviation

Check your steel before the concrete goes in. Pick the design point, then the surveyed one: arrows show which way each column is out and by how many millimetres. Anything within tolerance turns green, and the average of every column is placed for you.

Surfaces & DTM Export

From survey points to the controller in minutes. Build a ground surface with contours straight from your survey, then export it as LandXML or DXF, ready to set out from on a Leica CS20.

Point Import

Survey in, drawing done. Drop in your CSV and every point lands on its own layer by code, labelled with its number, code and level. Add a coordinate table to any point in two clicks.

Cut & Fill

Know your muck-away before you price it. Compare the existing ground with a formation level or a proposed surface and get exact cut, fill and net volumes, with a colour map and a results table on the drawing

Point Export: click positions on the drawing and they're numbered, labelled and saved to CSV, ready for the instrument.
Point ID: a neat E / N / H coordinate table with a leader, for any point you pick.
Circle Centres: finds and numbers the centres of piles, columns and core holes, with a schedule.
As Built: coordinate differences against design, plus steel column position and plumb checks with pass / fail.
Transform: pick two points, type their site grid coordinates, and the whole drawing moves onto the grid.
3D Circle and 3D Arc: draws a true circle or arc through any three points in 3D.
Cube Up: concrete volumes and order quantities straight from footprints on the drawing.
Mesh Up: works out reinforcement mesh sheets, laps and tonnage for any slab outline.
Linework: labels lengths along runs, with totals per layer for your take-offs.
Pipe Grade: drainage gradients as 1:N and %, set-out levels and pipe lengths for ordering.
Stamp: numbered markers for piles, gridlines and mark-ups, placed with a click.
Match+: match properties, including level (Z), which AutoCAD's own MATCHPROP can't do.
Pick Colour: select everything by colour, then recolour, move to a layer, isolate or delete it.
